Abstract

Biologic agents have revolutionized the management of chronic type 2 (T2) inflammatory diseases. As of September 2025, omalizumab, mepolizumab, benralizumab, dupilumab, tezepelumab, and lebrikizumab had been approved in Brazil for the treatment of one or more allergic conditions associated with T2 inflammation. Although these therapies are generally very safe, adverse events may occur. The members of the Scientific Department of Biologic Agents of the Brazilian Association of Allergy and Immunology (ASBAI) for the 2025–2026 term proposed compiling data from the scientific literature regarding these adverse events and, over the coming issues of this journal, will publish articles on this topic. In this first review, we present and discuss the potential adverse events associated with dupilumab therapy.

Keywords
